Monument Mining Limited - Betreiber der Selinsing-Goldmine in Malaysia

Die Basis, von der aus der kanadische Goldproduzent Monument Mining operiert, ist die Goldmine Selinsing in Malaysia. Diese hat das Unternehmen schon im Oktober 2009 zur Produktion gebracht und konnte bisher mit der Anlage über 350 Mio. USD an Umsatzerlösen erzielen.

Auf Selinsing, der einzigen derzeit produzierenden Mine des Unternehmens, erzielte Monument im Geschäftsjahr 2017 (endend zum 30.06.2017) Bruttoeinnahmen in Höhe von 15,72 Mio. USD bei Cash Kosten von 936 USD pro Unze Gold. Im abgelaufenen Geschäftsjahr wurden 12.845 Unzen Gold produziert, was deutlich weniger war, als noch in den Vorjahren. Grund dafür ist, dass die nachgewiesenen oxidischen Goldunzen der Selinsing sowie Buffalo Reef Tagebauten bereits abgebaut sind, und Monument in den vergangenen zwei Jahren nur sehr niedrig-haltiges Haldenmaterial durch ihre Kugelmühle und Laugungstanks schicken konnte.

In der Zwischenzeit konnte Monument nicht nur die Explorationslizenz, sondern auch die Minenlizenz der sogenannten FELDA-Projektfläche erwerben. Das FELDA-Land, welches sich östlich des Buffalo Reef Tagebaus befindet und die lokalen Siedler besaßen, wurde von der malaysischen Regierung in einem aufwendigen Prozess in Bergbauflächen umgewandelt. Dies war ein notwendiger Schritt, um Monument die Bergbaupacht zu übertragen. Monument geht davon aus, dass noch vor Ende des Kalenderjahres 2017 mit dem Bergbau auf dem sogenannten Block 7 Gebiet begonnen werden kann. Da dort auch oxidisches Erz vorhanden ist, könnte das Unternehmen schon bald die Produktion auf Selinsing wieder mit der bestehenden Anlage erhöhen. Des Weiteren wurde im abgelaufenen Geschäftsjahr 2017 auf dem Peranggih Goldprojekt, welches zirka 12 Kilometer nördlich von Buffalo Reef liegt, Probeentnahmen, sowie ein geologisches Ressourcenmodellierungsprogramm für Oxidmaterial durchgeführt.

Im zweiten Quartal 2017 begann Monument mit einer technischen Planung, sowie der Erstellung einer endgültigen internen Machbarkeitsstudie der im Dezember 2016 veröffentlichten Goldressourcen (nach dem kanadischen Standard NI 43-101) im Sulfid-Gestein der Vorkommen auf Selinsing und Buffalo Reef. Dadurch konnte Monument bereits ein Minenleben von mindestens weiteren sechs Jahren bestätigen. Parallel wurden verschiedene Tests mit dem BIOX®-Verfahren zur Aufbereitung des sulfidischen Goldes erfolgreich durchgeführt. Bisherige Arbeiten konnten eine durchschnittliche Ausbringungsrate von 90% bestätigen. Die endgültige interne Machbarkeitsstudie soll die Kapitalkosten der Aufbereitungsanlage für Sulfid-Material dokumentieren und als Finanzierungsgrundlage dienen. Ein positiver Abschluss dieser Studie, sowie eine erfolgreiche Finanzierung, würden einen Anlagebau von mindestens 12 Monaten mit sich bringen.

Sollte es Monument gelingen, die nächsten zwei Jahre bis zu einer möglichen Sulfid-Erz-Verarbeitung mit dem Abbau von oxidischen Goldunzen auf Block 7 und auf Peranggih zu überbrücken, ist ein deutlicher Anstieg der Jahresleistung, sowie ein attraktiver Gewinn zu erwarten. Beim Erzielen dieser Meilensteine hätte Monument auch die Möglichkeit, seine Unternehmensbewertung wieder deutlich zu steigern.

Auf dem in 2014 erworbene Burnakura-Goldprojekt in Westaustralien wurde der Zerkleinerungskreislauf angeliefert und steht für den Zusammenbau und Installation bereit. Bis zur Produktionsaufnahme sind weitere Finanzierungsmittel notwendig, die auch die Erzbewegungen der niedrig gradigen Goldunzen, welche in Stufe 1 auf Halde transportiert werden müssen, miteinschließen. Ein genauer Zeitplan bis zum Produktionsstart der Murchison Gold Mine wird noch vom Unternehmen entsprechend kommuniziert werden.

Das in 2012 erworbene polymetall Projekt Mengapur, ebenfalls in Malaysia, wurde durch die schwachen Buntmetallpreise im Geschäftsjahr 2015 zurückgestellt. Auf Grund der positiven Kupferpreisentwicklung in 2017 entschied Monument, die exklusive Nutzungslizenz der Intec-Technologie zur Kupfersulfidaufbereitung bis 2020 zu verlängern. Deshalb wird Monument im laufenden Geschäftsjahr verschiedene Test durchführen, um eine mögliche inländische Kupferproduktion auszuloten.

Robert F. Baldock, CA(M), FCPA, FCMC

Mr. Baldock is a seasoned mining executive with enviable C-suite experience. He is also a qualified accountant with over 30 years hands-on experience in raising equity and mining project finance, securing strategic acquisitions, and directing mining project development and mill construction. Mr. Baldock is the former Co-Founder and Managing Director, and subsequently Executive Chairman, of Golconda Minerals N.L. Group of Mining Companies listed on the ASX, NASDAQ and Stuttgart Stock Exchanges. As well, he was President of a controlled subsidiary, Nevada Goldfields Corporation, which was listed on the TSX, NASDAQ, USA and Stuttgart Stock Exchanges. With the Golconda Group, Mr. Baldock also acted as Managing Director of Duketon Exploration Limited, which made the grass roots discovery and developed the Duketon Gold Mine, built a mill, took it to production and listed on the ASX. The market capitalization of the Golconda Group and its subsidiaries was over $200 million in 1998 at its peak of operations under Baldock. Under his tenure he had the overall responsibility for raising needed capital and cash flow from operations to execute on the design, construction, commissioning and operation of seven mineral processing plants in the group.

Ms. Zhai has been the Chief Financial Officer at Monument Mining Limited since 2001. Ms. Zhai has more than fourteen years of extensive experience at senior positions in corporate finance, financial reporting, overseas capital registration and cash management, and business strategic planning. In her career, she has worked as CFO, Director of Finance and other senior roles with several public and private companies across the mining, high tech and biotech industries. Ms. Zhai is a designated Certified General Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Mathematics and Diploma in Financial Management Accounting and Multicultural Comparison.


Zaidi Harun, B.Sc.

Mr. Harun, former Vice President of Exploration for past five years, is an experienced Exploration Geologist having worked for 15 years in the international mining industry doing field work as well as geological exploration to expand existing mines. He has spent the last eight years in investigating and developing the present reserves, resources and mineral properties including the Selinsing Gold Project, Buffalo Reef Prospect, the Famehub Properties, Mersing Project and Mengapur Project; he also has focused on developing and maintaining relationships with Local, State and Federal governments and communities. Mr. Harun has also been a council member of the Malaysian Chambers of Mines since 2012.

Mr. Rauert is Fellow Member of AIMM. He has extensive underground mine planning experience and has worked on numerous projects mining different commodities. He is qualified under JORC and NI43-101 codes with extensive experience as a qualified person for reserve estimation, and with FAusIMM (CP) certification. His experience includes managing the Wiluna mining operations for Newmont and Agincourt, as well as study manager for various studies with Barrick Gold. More recently he was manager of mining services leading a team of some 15 mining professionals providing a technical shared service role to the Barrick Gold Yilgarn Operations for the Granny Smith, Darlot, Lawlers and Plutonic operations. He also has a number of technical publications.


Roger L. Stangler, B.Sc., MEng, MAusIMM, MAIG

Mr. Stangler is a geologist with over 25 years of experience in the mining industry and related research in mining geostatistics covering a range of commodities and mineral deposit types. In addition to resource geology, he has also been acting in the fields of exploration and mine geology. Mr. Stangler has completed technical due diligence studies, Resource-Reserve audits, and developed acquisition and investment projects at conceptual, pre-feasibility and feasibility study level. Mr. Stangler is a JORC Competent Person and as NI43-101 Qualified Person. Management expertise includes team management, project management, technical coordination and business development. Mr. Stangler has been working with Monument since February 2015 and prior for a diverse group of companies such as Vale, Anglo American, Snowden and Coffey, including operations and projects worldwide, especially in Brazil, Australia, Malaysia, Ghana, French Guiana, Bolivia, Mozambique and South Africa.

He an experienced mining executive as well as being a qualified and experienced accountant with over 30 years of hands on management of public and private corporations across a wide range of industries and oversaw the acquisition and establishment of the Selinsing Gold Mine for Monument. Mr. Baldock is the former cofounder and Managing Director and subsequently Executive Chairman of Golconda Minerals N.L. Group of Mining Companies listed on the ASX, NASDAQ and Stuttgart Stock Exchanges. He was as well President of a controlled subsidiary, Nevada Goldfields Corporation, which was listed on the TSX, Toronto, NASDAQ, USA and Stuttgart Stock Exchanges. Mr. Baldock's role with the Golconda Group also included the role of Managing Director of Duketon Exploration Limited, listed on the ASX. During Mr. Baldock's period of tenure he had the overall responsibility for raising capital and using the raised capital and cash flow from operations to oversee the design, construction, commissioning and operation of numerous mineral processing plants and mining operations. Mr. Baldock was until June 2012 also the President of Veris Gold Corporation.

Ms. Zhai has over 18 years of extensive experience at senior positions in business strategic planning, corporate finance, financial reporting and cost management over mining operations and other business sectors with international exposure across North America, China, South East Asia and Australia. She has participated in financing and development of the Selinsing Gold Mine from initial stage with discipline and a "cando" attitude. In her career, she has worked as CFO, Director of Finance and other senior roles with several public and private companies across mining, high tech, manufacturing and biotech industries. Ms. Zhai is a designated Certified General Accountant and holds a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics, and a Diploma in Multicultural Comparison.

Mr. Harun is an experienced Exploration Geologist with 20 years' experience in the international mining industry field work as well as extensive mine geological exploration experience. He has extensive knowledge of the Malaysian mining industry and has been a key senior person in assisting the President in mineral property research, liaison with government, local society, and implementing the CSR programs. Mr. Harun has spent the last 17 years working on the Selinsing Project site developing the present reserves and resource. He has been involved from the outset in Monument's preliminary mine planning and initial development for the Selinsing Gold Mine project.

Mr. Dickson is a mining executive with over 25 years of extensive experience in the gold mining industry and has built numerous gold treatment plants in remote areas of the world. He has being serving as President for NouHgt Technologies
Inc. since 2007; and previously served as Director, Chief Operating Officer and other positions of Veris Gold Corp. up to June 2015, which held a diverse portfolio of gold, silver, zinc and copper properties in the Yukon Territory and British Columbia, Canada as well as in the states of Arizona and Nevada in the U.S.A. Mr. Dickson also served in various capacities with BYG Natural Resources Ltd., which had a gold mine in the Yukon Territory; and acted as General Manager of a turnkey construction company for gold milling facilities in remote locations, including the Snip Mill for Cominco Ltd., Golden Patricia Mill for Bond Gold, Seebee Mill for Claude Resources and for surface facilities at the Julietta mine for Bema Gold.


Michael John Kitney, Ass Met, M.Sc., MAusIMM

Mr. Kitney has been Chief Operating Officer of Kasbah Resources Ltd. since February 2011. He is an internationally experienced metallurgist with in excess of 30 years' experience in evaluation and project development roles in Australia and internationally and these have included senior management and line positions with Minproc Engineers Limited, Alcoa Australia, British Phosphate Commissioners, Nelson Gold Corporation Limited and Avocet Mining plc. He has developed and constructed projects throughout Africa, Asia and Australia. He also participated in Selinsing Gold Processing Plant design work in the early years of Monument's development as an independent consultant and was a Qualified Person on metallurgical work according to NI 43 101 standards. He served as a Director of Redbank Mines Limited from March 1, 2006 to November 28, 2008. Mr. Kitney holds a Master of Science degree from WA School of Mines (Mineral Economics).
