Das wichtigste Entwicklungspotential für dieses Unternehmen und dessen Aktienkurs dürfte wohl liegen in der mit A$ 5,9 Mio bezahlten 17%-igen direkten Beteiligung, und dem über U$ 9,5 Mio vereinbarten Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) mit dem strategischen Partner AngloGold Ashanti. Damit sollen die mitten im Faina Greenstone Belt befindliche Cascavel Mine zurück in die kommerzielle Produktion gebracht werden, und umfangreiche Greenfield- & Brownfield Exploration entlang des noch relativ wenig erforschten Grünsteingürtels betrieben werden, nördlich und südlich der Cascavel Mine. AngloGold Ashanti ist immerhin der größte Gold-Produzent Brasiliens, und der Drittgrößte weltweit!


Orinoco ist eine Gesellschaft die auf Grund von Managementfehlern unter die Räder kam. Aktuell wird das Unternehmen von Jeremy Gray beführt. Er hat mit seiner Cartesian Royalty Holdings (Streaming Firma), Orinoco in der Vergangenheit finanziert. Aktuell sind kleine Crusher im Testeinsatz. Bisherige Ergebnisse sind vielversprechend, da endlich auch das hochgradige Gold ausgebracht werden kann. Ferner laufen weiteren Explorationsarbeiten. Ergebnisse sollen in Kürze veröffentlicht werden. Es wird vermutet, dass OGX über 200.000 Unzen Gold mit einem Durchschnittsgehalt von ca. 5g/t nachweisen kann. Das wäre dann aber schon eine Aussage, da das Management davon ausgeht, dass diese Unzen im Tagebau abgebaut werden können.

Es ist ein Placer Vorkommen mit hochgradigen Nuggets. Vermutlich ist auch deshalb die 2012/2017 Ressource noch extrem klein.

AngloGold Ashanti hat vor einem Jahr 5,9 Mio. AUD bei 7 A$Cent in OGX investiert. Ferner besteht ein Earn-in-Agreement für das Explorationsrecht auf dem Faina Goldprojekt (ohne Mine). Der MoU für das Earn-in sieht einen Explorationsbudget von 9,5 Mio. AUD vor. Wohl hat Anglo auch das Recht, 50% an der Cascavel Mine zu erwerben.

A HOT Turnaround Story!

Für Cascavel und Sertao gibt es Maiden Resource Estimates aus 2017 (JORC 2012): 4.500t @ 15,4 g/t für 2.200 Oz, beziehungsweise 223.111 t @ 6,9 g/t Au für 49.268 Oz). Für Cascavel wurde das Explorationsziel 15,000 – 46,000 tonnes @ 16 – 49 g/t Gold für 23,000 – 24,000 Unzen ausgerufen.

Die andauernden Explorationsaktivitäten auf Cascavel ergaben herausragende Resultate - Zone Mestre wird sogar als Kronjuwel von Cascavel bezeichnet:

  • 4. Großprobe aus dem Untertagebau lieferten Gehalte von 25,33 g/t

  • Zone Mestre: 59 Panel-Proben ergaben durchschnittliche Goldgehalte von 39,31 g/t; bei maximal 185 g/t

  • 30 Panel-Proben auf Cuca, das früher als die reichhaltigere Goldquelle auf Cascavel betrachtet wurde, genommen, dessen Ergebnisse noch ausstehen

  • Nur als Beimischung gesehen werden 5 x 1-Tonnen-Tailing-Proben aus Halde mit durchschnittlich 9,27 g/t

Allein auf Cascavel sind inzwischen 3 Gesteinsmühlen vor Ort aktiv, und zusammen mit Antena/Xupe sollen es bald mehr Mühlen sein. Man arbeitet noch mit relativ kleineren Tonnagen, da man sich damit mehr Effizienz in der Gold-Produktion erwartet.

In der letzten Pressemitteilung vom 8.1.18 ging hervor, daß man südlich Cascavel außerdem hochgradige Silber-Vererzungen entdeckte (Eine Bohrung ergab 17,56m @ 1.292 g/t Ag).

MR JEREMY GRAY
Managing Director

Mr Gray has been involved in mining for 23 years. He started his career at Credit Suisse in Melbourne in 1994 as a Mining Research Associate before moving to London to run the Mining Equity research team at Morgan Stanley. In 2001 he joined Sthenos Capital as a founding partner of a Hedge Fund with focus on Mining and Basic Materials trading. In 2005, Mr Gray returned to Credit Suisse in London to run the Mining team. In January 2009 he joined the world’s largest cobalt producer at the time in DRC before it was acquired by ENRC in September 2009.

In 2010, Mr Gray joined Standard Chartered in Hong Kong to run the Mining team and in 2014 he became a founding partner of Chancery Asset Management in Singapore. For the last 3 years he has also worked as a Director of Cartesian Royalty Holdings in Singapore. Mr Gray sits on the boards of Axiom Mining and White Rock Minerals that both trade on the ASX.


MR JOSEPH PINTO
Chairman

Mr Pinto has been a major shareholder and supporter of the Company for some years, and is also a major shareholder and non-executive Chairman of, Tyranna Resources Limited, which is a cornerstone investor in Orinoco.

Mr Pinto operates his own legal practice in Sydney, NSW. He has been a practising Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of NSW since 1983 as well as having been admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce.


DR MARCELO DE CARVALHO

VP Brazil & Chief Geologist

Prior to joining Orinoco, Dr de Carvalho spent seven years working with Yamana Gold Inc, a large Canadian gold company, most recently as the Generative Exploration Manager for Brazil. During this time, Dr de Carvalho was instrumental in identifying new opportunities for Yamana Gold and advancing its exploration projects, including the 150,000ozpa Pilar Gold Mine through to feasibility study and mine construction.

Prior to working at Yamana Gold, Dr de Carvalho worked for Anglo Gold as a geologist in the exploration division in the Amazon region and as a contractor for Vale. In addition to Dr de Carvalho's Brazilian exploration experience, he has conducted exploration campaigns and due diligence work throughout South America, working in countries including Honduras, Nicaragua, British Guiana and Argentina.


MR ALBERT LONGO

Chief Financial Officer

Mr Longo has nearly 40 years’ experience predominantly in the Australian gold mining industry and has been involved in a number of gold operations start-ups in both Australia and overseas, including Norths Mining Kanowna Belle gold mine. His experience also includes several senior roles at heavy engineering manufacturers

A qualified Chartered Accountant and experienced commercial and corporate executive, Mr Longo has held a broad range of senior corporate, commercial, operational and financial roles in his career to date.

He was previously Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary with Cleveland Mining Company (Brazil based gold mining operation), General Manager – Commercial with Focus Minerals, Chief Financial Officer at Allied Gold and held senior financial and executive positions with Normandy, North Limited and Pancontinental Mining.


MR RICHARD CREW
Chief Operating Officer

Mr Crew has a wealth of knowledge of Brazilian mining operations built up over 30 years in both open pit and underground mines. Most recently, he was Consultant General Manager Projects for the Sáo Bento Group, a private mining group operating two gold mines in the States of Mato Gross and Para producing a combined total of 100,000oz per annum of gold. In this role, he successfully managed a Bankable Feasibility Study and construction of a 2Mtpa gravity/CIL processing plant.

He has previously held a wide range of senior operational and executive positions in Brazil including as a senior mining consultant, as General Mine Manager for Cleveland Mining Company, Chief Operating Officer for Galantas Gold Corporation and General Manager and Projects Manager for AIM-listed gold and diamond company Target Resources PLC

DR KLAUS PETERSEN
President, Brazil Operations

Dr Petersen is a Brazilian national with over 20 years' experience in the Brazilian resources industry. Dr Petersen has spent the last eight years in management roles at ASX listed, Brazilian focused companies where he was responsible for project generation and exploration. This includes six years as Chief Geologist at Centaurus Resources (now Centaurus Metals) where he was one of the co-founders.

Prior to this time, Dr Petersen worked with Vale's exploration division on gold targets in Brazil's Iron Quadrangle and later completed his PhD on Anglo Gold Ashanti’s Serra Grande mine in Goiás State, Brazil. In 2003 he moved to Australia to work with the University of Western Australia on the gold mineralisation of complex hydrothermal systems in the Western Australia’s goldfields.

As a Brazilian geologist Dr Petersen has developed an extensive commercial network in Brazil ranging from drilling companies and laboratories to project vendors.
