Mit den Branchenriesen Randgold und AngloGold Ashanti als unmittelbaren Nachbarn lässt es sich hoffnungsvoll explorieren und entwickeln. Dieser Meinung ist auch Afrikakenner und einst Entdecker der Kibali Lagerstätte, Klaus Eckhof, der inzwischen erneut dem Board von Amani angehört. Nach damals erfolgreicher Entwicklung von Kibali brachte der Verkauf an die großen Produzenten satte 580 Millionen USD ein.
Amani hält 55,25% an dem 497 quadratkilometer großen Areal im Norden des Kongos, das sich aus den Teilgebieten Kebigada und Douze Match zusammensetzt. Für das gesamte Giro Goldprojekt wurden 2018 Ressourcen von bisher 3,14 Millionen Unzen bei einem Goldgehalt von 1,2 g/t definiert. Das ausgegebene Explorationsziel von Amani ist aber +10 Millionen Goldunzen. Nachdem geologische Ähnlichkeiten zur Kibali Lagerstätte bestätigt werden konnten, erscheint dieses ambitionierte Ziel durchaus erreichbar. Der erfahrene Explorationsgeologe Eckhof beabsichtigt zudem, weitere aussichtsreiche Lizenzgebiete, die das Giro-Projekt im Nordosten umgeben, zu erwerben.
Bis Mitte 2019 soll eine erste Machbarkeitsstudie für das Giro Goldprojekt abgeschlossen sein. Joint Venture Partenr SOKIMO, immerhin die staatliche Minenbaugesellschaft, unterstützt Amani dabei. Diese Studie wird vermutlich schon Zahlen einer ersten kleineren Produktionsanlage beinhalten. Mit der kürzlichen Kapitalbeschaffung über zunächst 3,6 Millionen AUD ist Amani finanziell zwar gut ausgestattet, benötigt zur Entwicklung des stetig wachsenden Projektes anhaltend flüssige Mittel, möglichst ohne weitere Dilutierung bestehender Aktionäre. Vorzeitiger Cashflow aus erster eigener Produktion ist dabei eine sinnvolle Ergänzung des Giro-Projektes.
Großaktionäre bei Amani, das aktuell einen Market Cap von 7,4 Millionen AUD ausweist, sind Luck Winner (16,25%) und neuerdings Okapi Resources (8,4%).
Giro Gold ist ein äußerst vielversprechendes Projekt. Es ist gut, dass Klaus Eckhof dem Management wieder dazugehört. Er weiß, wie man im Kongo Deals strickt und umsetzt.
Mr Eckhof re-joined Amani on January 31, 2019. He is a geologist with more than 20 years of experience identifying, exploring and developing mineral deposits around the world. Mr Eckof is the former Chairman of Amani Gold Limited.
SIK LAP (JACKY) CHAN
MANAGING DIRECTOR & CEO
Mr. Sik Lap Chan is a professional geologist and valuer with more than 12-year experience in the mining industry. He has been involved in the planning, implementation and supervision of various exploration programs, resources/reserve estimation, open pit and underground production, feasibility studies, JORC report compilation, Engineering/Procurement/Construction (EPC)/ Management, valuation and listing preparation for mineral assets in different stock exchanges. The projects he has handled are across a number of commodities with locations in Australia, China, North America, Central and South-East Asia. Mr. Chan has held senior management positions in diverse international exploration and mining companies providing him experience in corporate management, government liaisons, business development and environmental, health and safety. He has also undertaken a number of senior executive roles with mining consulting and valuation companies. Mr. Chan obtained his Bachelor of Science degree with first class honors in the Department of Earth Sciences from the University of Hong Kong in 2004. He subsequently obtained a Masters in Philosophy and lectured, both at the University of Hong Kong from 2013 to 2014.
Yu Qiuming was Chairman of Amani Gold Limited from July 2017 to April 2019. Mr Yu is an experienced company director and is currently Chairman of ASX listed Amani Gold Limited. Mr Yu is also director of Hong Kong listed Panda Green Energy Group Limited (SEHK: 0686) and Chairman of both Xinjiang Coal Exchange Center Company Limited and Poly Jiangshan Resources Company Limited. Mr Yu has a wealth of mine investment, development and management experience. In 2006, Mr Yu initiated the creation of China Poly Group Energy Sector (Poly Energies Holding Company Limited in 2006 and he served as president from 2006 to 2009), the main business of which is the development of nonferrous metals and coal resources in PRC and Iran. Poly Energy has registered capital of approximately RMB 3.55 billion and total assets of approximately RMB 27.2 billion and has more than 8,000 employees. Mr Yu has also been instrumental in the development of several producing copper-zinc-gold mines located in Xinjiang, China. Mr Yu holds a bachelor’s degree in Resource and Environment Planning and Management from Nanjing University in China.
Grant Thomas was appointed Director of Amani Gold Limited on 2 January 2018. Mr Thomas is a geoscientist and experienced company director and is currently director of ASX listed company Kazakhstan Potash Corporation Limited. Mr Thomas has previously served as Managing Director of ASX listed Tianshan Goldfields Limited, Celsius Coal Limited, ActivEX Limited and has held senior positions with Rio Tinto Exploration (Australia, Brazil and China) and Hamersley Iron. Mr Thomas has 30 years of professional experience covering project acquisition, mineral exploration and resource project evaluations for several minerals, including diamonds, gold, iron ore, copper, lead, zinc, uranium, fluorspar and coal in Australia, China, South Africa, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Cambodia and Mongolia. Mr Thomas has completed several substantial capital raisings in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. Mr Thomas has been involved with successful project leadership and exploration discoveries within Australia and China including; Homestead, Mount Sheila and Mount Sylvia (iron ore) and 2.4Moz Au Xinjiang Gold Mountain and Kuan Gou (gold) discoveries. Mr Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in science from Adelaide University.
Antony Truelove was appointed Director of Amani Gold Limited on 19 March 2018. Mr Truelove is a geologist and experienced company director and is currently managing director of unlisted UK based company Anglo Saxony Mining Ltd and COO of AIM listed company Panthera Resources Plc. Mr Truelove has previously floated, and served as Managing Director of, ASX listed company Southern Cross Goldfields Limited and has held senior positions with Billiton, Newmont, Newcrest and Delta Gold. Mr Truelove has 35 years of professional experience in the resource industry covering project acquisition, mineral exploration and feasibility studies for gold and tin mineralisation. He has been involved with the discovery and definition of over 15 million ounces of gold and 120,000t tin, plus associated zinc and indium. He also has considerable experience in base metals, iron ore and nickel exploration. Mr Truelove has experience working in Australia, Indonesia, India, China, UK, Germany, Zimbabwe and West Africa. Mr Truelove graduated from Adelaide University with a Batchelor of Science with First Class Honors in 1981.
Fu Sheng was appointed Non-Executive Director of Amani Gold Limited on 11 July 2017. Mr Fu has significant experience investing in, developing and managing mines and has been involved in the creation of more than ten mining entities. In particular, Mr. Fu has a very deep understanding of non-ferrous metals project development and management. Mr. Fu holds a Bachelor’s degree in mining machinery. Mr. Fu is currently the general manager of Hubei Huangshi Xin Delong Mining Co., Ltd. and chairman of Xinjiang Shanshan Houwang Copper Mine Co., Ltd, Ltd which has a copper-zinc mine plant with a production capacity of 450,000 tons / year.
Craig McPherson was appointed as Company Secretary of Amani Gold Limited on 27 March 2018. Mr McPherson is a Chartered Accountant with over twenty years of commercial and financial management experience. He has held various roles with ASX and TSX listed companies as Director, Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary over the past ten years. He was previously Chief Financial Officer, Director and Company Secretary of ASX/TSX listed Cerro Resources NL which completed a ~$130m corporate transaction with Primero Mining Corporation. Mr McPherson is a director of MH Private, a boutique corporate and business advisory firm where he specialises in corporate transactions, acquisitions and divestments, financing initiatives and stock exchange listings. He also maintains an active role in various ASX listed and unlisted public and private companies and is currently involved with ASX Listed companies Santana Minerals Limited, Amani Gold Limited and ActivEX Limited and unlisted company Mekong Minerals Limited. Mr McPherson holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Thomas Bartel has joined Giro Goldfields in September 2014 and was appointed Country Manager of Amani Gold Limited in December 2017. Mr Bartel is a geologist with more than 12 years of experience in mineral exploration. Mainly focused on gold deposits he has held project and exploration management positions in several ASX and TSX listed junior companies operating in Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo. His experience includes the setup and management of exploration projects in terms of work programs, budgeting and logistics as well as the formation of sustainable links between company interests and local communities. Mr Bartel holds a master’s degree in Geology from Bonn University, Germany.
KWAKU AMPOMA AGYEI-HENAKU
Mr Kwaku Ampoma Agyei – Henaku is a geologist with over 20 years’ experience in prospecting and mining for gold and base metals on different mineral prospects in West & East Africa. He was appointed Exploration Manager of Amani Gold Limited in December 2017. Mr Kwaku Agyei – Henaku has successfully explored for gold from 1996 for Santa Fe Mining Inc. (now Newmont) and Birim Goldfields ltd (now B2Gold) on the Bui and Dunkwa projects in Ghana, Gold Fields Exploration Ltd as senior supervising geologist in Mali – 1.8Moz Yanfolila Projects (Sankarani and Komana), Australia – St Ives Gold Mine, Burkina Faso – 4.8Moz Essakane Gold Mine, Guinea – 1Moz Mansonia, Kossanke Celine, Telikan Tamakaya Projects, DR Congo – Kissenge Project, Ghana – Mampehia, Bibiani, East Ashanti Projects and in Cote de Ivoire – Sissingue Project. Mr Kwaku Agyei – Henaku was also a key member of Burey Gold’s exploration team from 2008 to 2015 serving in various technical and managerial roles as senior geologist and regional exploration manager in Guinea exploring for gold and uranium – Balatindi project. He has been actively involved since 2015 in the successful exploration activities leading to the delineation of a 2Moz maiden inferred gold resource at Kebigada on Amani Gold’s Giro project in DR Congo. Mr Kwaku Agyei – Henaku holds a BSc (Hons) Geology degree from the University of Legon, Ghana.
Masoud Kiyombe joined Giro Goldfields on 1 August 2016 and was appointed Chief Geologist of Amani Gold Limited in December 2017. Mr Masoud is an experienced company geologist who has previously served as senior exploration geologist of ASX listed Alphamin Resources Corp. at its Bisie Tin project North Kivu / DR Congo between April 2013 and May 2015 and Tiger Resources Ltd, in the Katangan copper belt – Kipoi and Lupoto projects / DR Congo between 2010 and 2012. He has held project geologist positions with Elemental Minerals Ltd, an Australian ASX listed company, at its Kasai (Musefu) Gold Projects in DR Congo between 2007 and 2008, Barrick Exploration Africa at its Gold and base metal projects around the Lake Victoria goldfields / Tanzania between Sept 2000 and Jan 2007 and Anglo American Prospecting Services (T) Ltd in the Lake Victoria goldfields / Tanzania between Sept 1996 and Oct 1998. Mr Masoud has over 18 years of professional experience in gold and base metals exploration including Tin from grass roots projects to advanced resource evaluation programmes in Tanzania, DR Congo and Bukina Faso / West Africa. He has been extensively involved in exploration and resource programme planning, execution and ensuring programmes are completed on time and on budget. He has also visited a number of world class mines namely Bulyanhulu, Tulawaka and North Mara gold mines owned by Barrick Gold Ltd and Geita mine owned by Anglo Gold – all in Tanzania, Morila Mine in Mali / West Africa and Pascua-Lama (Au), Agua De La Falda (Au), Potrerillos (Cu-Au), El Hueso (Au) in Chile / South America. Mr Masoud has been successfully involved in the supervision of resource drilling programmes in advanced projects leading to discoveries and resource definitions in Tanzania and DR Congo. The projects include: Nyanzaga (2.47Moz Au) and Jomu (0.3Moz Au) in the Lake Victoria goldfields / Tanzania, Bisie (210.000t of contained Tin) in North Kivu / DR Congo, Kipoi in the Katangan copper belt / DR Congo (managed to increase the resource by 40% from 375000t to 525000t of contained copper) and Giro Goldfields / Amani Gold Limited with over 2Moz Au delineated at its Kebigada project / DR Congo. Mr Masoud holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in geology from Dar es Salaam University / Tanzania.
